Penguins take an early bath

Clearly the Pens were far too excited about Christmas to worry about their game last night…OR maybe it was their early Christmas present to Tampa! Ok, ok so I’m being silly. The Penguins obviously have problems at the moment and it would seem Michel Therrien is blaming it on their whingeing on the bench and their lack of work ethic.
This is a team I always thought had really good work ethic, I think especially at the beginning of the season with all the late comebacks it went someway to prove their passion and dedication to their team. It would appear that of late they have lost their mojo, motivation…whatever you like to call it! What a time for Whitney to make his return…he must have sniffed a most different attitude from the last time he played in Game 6 in June!
I am sure that all teams suffer this type of lack of motivation at some point in the season, but whining on the bench at each other is somewhat of a shock to me…team spirit is somewhat of a necessity you know! With so many super players, there was sure to come a point that this in-house-bickering would break out…and I’m truly hoping that they realise what they have and it will be short lived. I don’t think deep down they want to be racking up the points late in the season again!
Would love to know what you think as usual! Can we excuse them this? Are they sealing their fate with their whining? I can only imagine what the atmosphere in Mellon as been like the past two home games post-game?! Without Fleury could things be much much worse?
